Overview
We are frequently asked about uploading showreels to various industry websites.
A few years ago showreels were traditionally burned to DVD’s and posted to agents and casting directors. With advances in technology it is now extremely easy to upload a showreel to an external site and email across a link for somebody to watch. This has eliminated the expense of creating and posting DVD’s.
All showreels we edit and create are uploaded to our YouTube Channel. Once completed you will be emailed a direct link to the showreel. With this link you can easily send a copy of your showreel to anyone in the world.
Whilst we are more than happy to offer advice and in some cases even upload footage to different websites this is an optional service we offer. You have no obligation when booking a showreel with us (either edit or creation) to have us upload the finished result to an external website. We have not calculated a cost for uploading. We do not consider uploading part of the package of either an “edit” or “showreel created from scratch”. If you ask and provide us the correct information/details we will be more than happy to help you with uploading. However we must stress this service is optional and not considered part of any package when we calculate a cost.
SPOTLIGHT
Spotlight has finally updated their showreel uploading policy. As part of the new policy “showreel uploading” is now FREE! and included as part of a member’s membership, and can be done from their own admin panel at no additional cost!
If you’ve delayed uploading your showreel because of the additional fees, or have been using YouTube to showcase yourself, now’s the time to change.
We are happy to announce that anyone booking either a showreel edit or showreel scene with Shoe String Filming, can now have their finished reel uploaded straight to their Spotlight page. You can also email a file to Spotlight or bring in a DVD to Spotlights main office and Spotlight will be able to upload the showreel for you.

Mandy.com (formley Casting Call Pro)
Casting Call Pro works in a very similar way to Spotlight. You have an option from the members area to upload a showreel to your CV. We are happy to announce that anyone booking either a showreel edit or showreel scene with Shoe String Filming, can now have their finished reel uploaded straight to their Casting Call Pro page. (If you wish to take advantage of this optional extra we will require your Casting Call Pro Log In Details)
We have no control over Casting Call Pro and their servers and can’t be held responsible for any downtime or delays when uploading things to Casting Call Pros website.
Other websites including your own personal website
We would strongly advise uploading your showreel to YouTube. YouTube works on most browsers, smart phones, computers and tablet devices. All you have to do once you have uploaded a video to YouTube is simple click “Share” copy the code and paste it onto your website.
It’s the quickest and simplest way to ensure as many people can view your showreel.
